The Franco-Mexican Health Conferences were held on Friday 10 July 2015 in Paris at the headquarters of the National Academy of Medicine, during the State visit to France by Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto from 13 to 16 July 2015. Marisol Touraine, Minister of Social Affairs, Health and Womens’ Rights, opened the session in the presence of the Mexican Health Minister, Mercedes Juan Lopez. Some 80 experts discussed nutrition, care for the elderly and global health cover, with a view to strengthening health cooperation between France and Mexico through partnerships between various institutions.
Since the Forum was held just one month after the FAMx Mexico Forum, the Foundation had already had the opportunity to build strong relationships with Mexican health experts and was therefore asked to take part in establishing this new official meeting between the two countries.
Therefore, the Academy of Medicine Foundation (FAM) was able to organise an official dinner on the evening of 9 July at the Hôtel des Arts et Métiers to reunite the French and Mexican delegations and thus create links outside the confines of the conventions and partnerships. Alongside the FAM, also present were the representatives of the French and Mexican Ministries of Health, the Academies of Medicine of both countries, as well as the patrons, such as L’Oréal, Sanofi and the Airbus Helicopters Foundation.
